You may have heard about the upcoming release of Microsoft's new operating system, Windows Vista. Microsoft has made significant changes to how software runs on Windows Vista.
We are posting this important service alert because you are using earlier versions of Client Access or iSeries Access Express, as well as possibly PC JIMS software. Since these programs were developed and released before the introduction of Windows Vista, they may be adversely affected when used on a computer running Windows Vista.
We have done some testing of our software on early releases of Windows Vista, and will resume testing as soon as we obtain a copy of the latest Vista release.
In the meantime, we recommend that you DO NOT upgrade any of your PCs to Windows Vista. We also recommend that you DO NOT purchase any new PCs with Vista if you plan to install Client Access, iSeries Access, or any PC JIMS products.
Instead, new PCs can be purchased with Windows XP, along with the option to upgrade to Vista at a later date. That said, we recommend that you DO NOT upgrade to Vista prior to the release of Windows first major Vista Service Patch. Even then, please re-check this website for our report as to whether the Service Patch sufficiently modifies Vista so that it can safely run your PC JIMS software.
We recognize that your Client Access, iSeries Access and PC JIMS software are important business tools and want to ensure that they continue to perform to your satisfaction.
